Learn the art of Random Weave basketry with acclaimed Brooke Munro and you will create a basket or form from hand dyed core cane and found objects including foraged plant fibres.

Brooke is our resident basket maker extraordinaire, weaving, coiling she does it all and with such amazing style.. she floats in from the countryside bringing with her the slow living and effortless calm that comes from where she hangs her hat at night.

You don't need to bring a thing we provide it all and impress you with the ease.

Our address is Studio 4102, 4 Daydream Street Warriewood.

Firstly you will learn to make cord using foraged and prepared plant fibres. This cord can also be made using remnant and dyed fibres for additional interest and design. From the prepared cord you will create a bag using knotless netting techniques such as looping, figure of eight, twisted and round stitches.

Christmas Workshops

Cottonwood - Chrismas wreath workshop-5_preview.jpg

Maxton Cottage

You CAN make one of these! You REALLY CAN! Then you can take it home and impress the stockings off everyone at Christmas. This divine creation can be a stand-alone piece; a fresh take on your usual tree, or an incredible table centrepiece - especially if you don't want to see crusty old Uncle Bob, or whiney cousin Nina across the table from you!

Using a custom-built jig and locally sourced vines, you will spend a lovely three hours creating something truly handmade and eco-friendly - so it's feel-good, to boot!

Gorgeous wire fairy lights (battery operated) are included, and you can continue to decorate away at home until your tinselly-little-heart is content! Then - once the Wise Men have had their epiphany, pack it away for next year, or better still, strip of Xmas cheer and find it a new job. These make FABULOUS garden sculptures!

The Modern Major General will supply you with lovely refreshments and caffeine to make you ultra-productive!

A little aside: the florals in these pics are decorative only, and are not part of this workshop. Here's a tip though, check out the special package we have on doing both Brooke and Nadine's workshop on the same day!
